FAQs

Does Upper Cervical Care Hurt?

During the adjustment, the patient lies comfortably on their side. Dr. Olivia uses the Atlas Orthogonal Adjusting Instrument to deliver a specific force in a precise direction to the atlas vertebra (C1). This gentle force helps to realign the atlas and restore proper function to the nervous system.

The Atlas Orthogonal technique is non-invasive and does not involve manual thrusts or rotations of the neck. This makes it suitable for patients who prefer a gentle approach to Chiropractic Care or who may have concerns about traditional manual adjustments.

What is the difference between an upper cervical adjustment and a manual adjustment?

both upper cervical adjustments and manual adjustments are chiropractic techniques aimed at restoring spinal alignment and function, they differ in their focus, precision, and methods. Upper cervical adjustments specifically target the upper neck vertebrae with precise techniques, while manual adjustments can address subluxations throughout the spine using hands-on manipulation. The choice between these techniques often depends on the specific condition being treated and the chiropractor's assessment of the patient's needs.

Does Chiropractic Care hurt?

During a manual chiropractic adjustment, you may feel a sensation of pressure or a popping sound as joints are manipulated. This is usually painless and can provide relief from tension and neck and back pain.

Some patients may experience mild soreness or discomfort following an adjustment, similar to post-exercise soreness. This typically resolves within a day or two and can be managed with ice and/or gentle stretching.

Chiropractic Care at Perfect Touch Chiropractic is supposed to be fun!

Do I need to see a Chiropractor?

Whether or not you need to see a chiropractor depends on your specific circumstances and health goals. Chiropractic care is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those related to the spine, but also has been seen to have therapeutic effects, preventative benefits, and overall wellness care advantages.

Some people prefer Chiropractic Care as a non-invasive and drug-free approach to managing pain and improving overall well-being.

Client Testimonials

Dr. Healey is great and walks you through the whole process. She made me feel comfortable, especially as someone who does not like any sort of medical appointments. I appreciate how detailed she was with what’s going on with my body and how detailed the plan is to correct me.
